Democrat Senate Candidate’s Grandfather Was Suspected Serial Killer

A report says Minnesota Lt. Gov. and Democratic Senate nominee Peggy Flanagan's maternal grandfather, John Jacob Hartmann, was suspected but never charged in four killings and spent over 30 years in state mental hospitals. Hartmann escaped the security hospital once and was later federally charged after allegedly threatening a judge. The article notes Flanagan was 3 when he died and that her campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
